This is a piece done in acrylics and oil pastels on 50cm x 30cm canvas paper mounted onto board.
The frame was handmade specially for it by myself. using reclaimed wood, making it a unique, rustic, collectable item.

Stemming from my early interest in Mesoamerican cultures.
The Zapotec civilization originated in the three Central Valleys of Oaxaca in the late 6th Century BC.
This is my interpretation of the cultures rain god. He was the most important of the religious figures and was believed to have created the universe with his breath.
