Puck

£95.00

With the lead up to Solstice I wanted to create a piece loosely based on Puck, the shapeshifting sprite from Midsummer Night’s Dream.
The roots of the name are derived from the Old English word Púca or Pooka – These are Imps considered to be bringers of both good and bad fortune. Mostly known to cause mischief, sometimes they were known to be more domestic in nature performing kind nighttime tasks for the household from which they were attached.

Being as they are so dual natured, I wanted to make it bright and bold and used a bit of everything when creating this,95 including inks, pastels, watercolours, handmade mulberry papers and of course some real midsummer pressed foliage from my garden.
It was created on A3 300gsm watercolour paper.
