Gaia (Mother Earth)
We once existed in absolute symbiosis with nature.
We spoke to and heard directly from the plant and animal kindoms.
We drifted away from this over time. Forgot our connection to the vast spirit of nature.
We are now being reminded of this intimate relationship.
Our very survival and where we wind up on the ladder of evolution will depend on just how deeply we are connected to the forces incoming and our soul frequency and resonance with the spirit of nature.
This is my first 3D work using a water-based fabric hardener which was combined with many other natural fabrics, including handmade beads from air drying clay, gemstones, bark, feathers and other collections from the earth to honour her unprocessed wild state.
The whole piece took around 70 hours over many weeks and was created on a wooden base measuring 42cm(H) 44cm(W) with the whole creation measuring 17cm in depth. It wasn’t a speedy process but I really enjoyed bringing her together over time.
The spirit of nature should be honoured.
